Title: Demonstration
of Census and Survey Processing System (CSPro)
By: Ms. Munkhzul Zookhuu (Zula) M.A. International
Student |
I have
shared some information on the capabilities
and features of the Census and Survey Processing
System (CSPro) on Jul 29, 2009 (last Wednesday
seminar).
CSPro
is a public-domain software package that is
especially designed for entering, checking,
editing, tabulating, and mapping census and
survey data. Either small or large data from
censuses and surveys in any subject areas can
be processed by using CSPro. It allows a user
to create data dictionaries that contain common
descriptions of data files, which are ASCII
format, and data entry forms (just same as questionnaire
forms) for data capture. And a user will be
able to develop applications that examine consistency
checks, skips, structural defects, or other
errors of data files. Also, CSPro has capabilities
of manipulating data files, creating an application
to produce frequency distributions or cross-tabulations,
or creating thematic maps that can be used for
data distribution.
Considering
very interests in how CSPro exactly works of
some participants in the last Wednesday seminar,
a demonstration on Cspro will be held for the
audience who are interested in. Hope you will
join us.

Title:
Rethinking "Forest Malaria": A Consideration
from Malaria Control Project in Myanmar
By: Dr. Chihiro Shirakawa, Visiting scholar, IPSR/
Associate Professor, National Museum of Ethnology,
Osaka, Japan |
Malaria
in the South-east Asian continent has long been
described as "forest malaria", since
main vector mosquitoes of this area, Anopheles
minimus and A. dirus, breed mainly in clear
running waters in forests and their fringe areas.
However, it appears that this description needs
to have a careful examination. Since 2004, I
am engaging in a malaria control project organized
and implemented by the Ministry of Health, Myanmar,
and the Japan International Cooperation Agency
(JICA) as JICA short term expert. Based on this
experience, the presentation aims to point out
that the malaria situation in the project site
of Myanmar should not be understood simply as
"forest malaria".

Title: To
Create Data Entry Form with CSPro
By: Patama Vapattanawong |
